Mark Horstmann

Public Accountant
When Mark joined Baker & Colson, P.C., he brought with him an extensive
portfolio of experience in public accounting. After working in the hotel
and maritime accounting industries at the beginning of his career, Mark
joined Pohs & Company, P.C., which later became Brandt & Horstmann, P.C.
Due to these experiences as an owner for 16 years, Mark jokes that he
has ”seen it all and then some.” He then accepted a position with one of
his deceased client’s family, assisting in the transition of the
businesses to the next generation. It was following that project in 2007
that Mark joined us at Baker and Colson, P.C.
Mark specializes in closely-held business entities with emphasis on
tracking owner’s overall income, personal financial planning and estate
considerations. Succession planning is a hot topic these days, and Mark
can walk you through the tax benefits of various courses of action.
In his spare time, Mark continues to fine tune his golf skills and
enjoys playing in as many tournaments as possible. His major hobby is
raising two teenagers.
